Pediatric hearing screening is essential for early language and literacy development, yet many educators and caregivers are not clinically trained and lack clear guidance on what screening results mean and how to respond. The challenge was to design learning that was medically accurate, accessible, and immediately usable in real-world settings.
I designed a multi-modal learning experience that combined foundational instruction with performance support. The solution included a self-paced eLearning course to establish understanding, a printable job aid for on-the-job reference, and a webinar to reinforce concepts and provide space for clarification and discussion.
I served as the Lead Instructional Designer, responsible for learning strategy, content design, accessibility considerations, and development of all learning assets, including the course, job aid, and webinar.
This learning experience was intentionally designed as more than a single course. The components work together to support understanding, confidence, and real-world application.

This learning experience was intentionally designed as more than a single course. The components below work together to support understanding, confidence, and real-world application.
Self-paced eLearning course
Printable job aid for performance support
Webinar for reinforcement and Q&A
Designed performance-focused job aid optimized for real-world use
Maintained consistency across all assets
Balanced accuracy with accessibility
Built reusable assets for future learning contexts
This project reinforced the importance of designing for confidence, not just comprehension. If iterated further, I would integrate scenario-based reflection into the course and embed the job aid directly at key decision points to further support learning transfer.
